Welcome to my Gym, Kyle's Gym! The Ultimate Home Gym!
What - Where - When - Why - How - Who What Kyle's gym is me pumping iron in my room, competing with myself and comparing myself to other people I find on the internet. My gear consists of 45, 35, 25, and 8 pound dumb bells, a pullup bar, rings, a portable bench and a stretch mat. I also stretch but most of that is not filmed, however I do have some yoga moves that I incorporated into my origional excersizes. The website itself wasn't planned; it just happened. What happened was I got too stoned to be able to lift and at the same time I got the stony vision to make a Kyle's Gym site so that it would be easier for me to motivate to pump out. Remember in Field of Dreams where they say, "If you build it they will come"? Well, I figured that if I create a space to pump, it would only be natural to expect that I will fill it in with pumpage. This space to which I refer is both my pump room as a physical place and my web site as a place for me to constantly fill in with new PR exersizes and best origional workouts. Pretty dope suck huh?! Once I had the scene set up I still at least subconciously felt like I wasn't ready to pump iron until I make a whole list of exersizes for me to constantly be able to try to improve on. These exersizes are divided up into four sections: Weight exersizes, Body Weight Exersizes, my origional exersizes and Other Peoples Exersizes. My hope is that I find people in all the exersizes who can give me a run for my money, or who I can challenge to improve to the point that they can beat me. Light hearted competition with myself and others is what drives me to put myself in the hurt locker. Where My gym is in my room in North East Boulder, which appears to be 10 by 12 feet or so with normal ceiling height. I also have a walk in closet so I can do my pullups without having to expose myself to the hallway quadrant. My floors open area is about eight feet my about six and a half. Just large enough for me to feel spacious. My gear is completely unobtrusive. My dumbells, yoga mat and rings fit comfortably under my bed and my bench leans behind the door to my walk in closet. I have a climbing pullup bar over the door to my closet. When I came up with the idea to film myself pumping it in like December or January. It has been slow going because of sickness and various stuff, and so I haven't really started lifting more than a few minutes a week. Ideally I will be lifting between ten minutes and an hour a day; hopefully averaging around a half hour a day. My dream is to do ten minutes when I get up and then do sessions of trying to break my PR and doing my origional exersizes. Why I decided to film myself working out for a lot of reasons. The first was to I can document my progress and know exactly how much pumpage it takes to get from point A to point B. That didn't work out too well though because for some reason a lot of my videos never made in onto youtube. Another reason I film myself lifting is so I can keep track of how strong I am and recheck on my form and watch myself improve. I want other people to be able to watch me workout so they can gain motivation to lift also as most people will be able to relate to my strength level. I have a creative way to set up a home gym that is completely unobtrusive yet has the potential to work out the whole body in an entertaining way. The purpose of this website is so I can keep track of my strength with my videos of my personal best and compare my current strength with my beginning strength. I want to find other people on youtube who are of similar enough strengto to me so that I have something realistic to work up to and vice versa. I would absolutely love to get into a back an forth battle with people who are similar enough to me in strength so that we keep beating each other and grow stronger together. It's like having a gym partner that is in a different place and time. What I really want to do is to always have something there to motivate me to lift. If I don't have the time but I am fresh I could always try to beat one of my PRs which doesn't take much time at all. If I am sore but have the time I could chose from my large collection of dumb bell and body weight workouts and film myself work a muscle that is fresh, as there are always muscles that are fresh. If I feel good and have time I can do one of my origional workouts and try to improve on a workout someone else came up with. How It's pretty simple. All you have to do is buy a couple sets of dumb bells that cost about a dollar a pound, a pullup bar for around twenty bucks or so, and a bench like the one I have which I got for about a hundred bucks. That is all you need and if it's out of the way you don't have to feel like a sissy if you don't use it. While I work my body I love to feed my mind by listening to interviews on youtube. Some channels I especially like are theduderinok, project camelot, and jagbodhi. I also made my own channel of interviews that I like to listen to with Duncan Campbell on the youtube channel called dialogueswithduncan. Who Hi I'm Kyle Pounds. I'm kindo of a recluse. I only have two friends right now besides my mom and the dudes I work with; they are my brother Mike and my High School friend Mike Chapin. I don't hang out with my brother, but I do call him every day to see if he wants to work out with me. I bought him the same set up I have here so I know one day he will say yes on the grounds that he knows he needs to get into shape and he already has the gear. Mike Chapin has his own gear too and sometimes is up for working out with me. I don't hang out with him either, but he is interested in running and riding and lifting with me more as time goes on. I am very happy I have a such a simple life that allows me the opportunity to pump iron in my room and go running or riding whenever I want. That would be awesome to have a female workout partner. I think women have just as strong of legs as men from seeing videos on youtube, and they seem to be able to do bodyweight exersizes just as well as men, so there just may be some girls out there who could give me a run for my money. It's not neccessary though for a workout partner to be as strong as you though; you just do what you can do. Just one more thing about me that I think I'll mention now. I created a new trifecta of importance in life, it's called Weed, Mushrooms, and Aliens. My idea is that all the little boys and girls need to be smoking dope, eating mushrooms and trying to communicate telepathically with the aliens and spirits. Just as soon as we do all that, BANG, all of our problems will be solved. I would love to debate this with anyone who doesn't agree by the way, but it must be public. I don't like wasting time emailing people stuff that only they can see. I already do enough of that. |
